From Show to Shop: Our NYNOW Favorites

Posted:
Last week we attended NYNOW, the enormous Home Furnishings and
Accessories tradeshow in NYC. For us it's a great opportunity to meet
new talented craftsmen, introduce them to LQSHOP, and catch up with
old friends. With thousands of vendors and miles of aisles, we've learned
it's essential to choose your shoes wisely for the day and throw back a
few cups of strong coffee! Here are some of our new finds that we're
excited to take from the show to the shop:

 Alexandra Von Furstenburg

Funky and fabulous neon tabletop accessories that are impossible to ignore.

Rosanna Contadini for Neo

Totally unique baskets and containers hand-knitted from neoprene.

Zenza

Atmospheric handmade lights that cast intricate shadows - perfect for
adding ambiance to any room.

MonkeyBiz South Africa
Using beautiful beadwork to make wonderfully charismatic animals (we
particularly loved the Porcupine!), MonkeyBiz supports a traditional craft
and the economic development of women in South Africa.

Tisch New York
In colorful, graphic designs, these sturdy placemats put a new spin on
dressing up the dinner table.

Jo-Liza International

Gorgeous, unusual, and comfortable pieces for lounging made from woven
rope that had us dreaming of warmer days.

 People of the Sun

Whimsical ceramic animal head hooks made by artisans in Malawi. They'll
be a fun addition to any kids room.

Engso

At the end of a long day, we were psyched to find Engso, who makes

bitchin' leather bags and accessories by hand in NYC. We think he's a

rock star! As soon as we entered his booth, we were already arguing over

who gets to keep which bag.
